TULSA, Okla. -
Oral Roberts University fell in men's tennis action on Saturday
afternoon, 7-0, to Creighton University at the Case Tennis
Complex.
ORU's record now stands at 1-10.
Both doubles matches were close, with Billy Paluch and J.T.
Christian taking the top court over Nathaniel Avery and Alvaro Gutierrez, 8-3. Ryan Norman and Sean Mathison
knocked off Parker Allen and Pedro Moreno on court two, 8-6, to clinch the doubles
point.
The highlight of the match for ORU came at No. 1 singles, where
Gutierrez took a set from Paluch before falling, 2-6, 6-3,
11-9.
The rest of the singles courts were easy victories for the Blue
Jays (8-3). Christian dropped Allen on the second court, 6-1, 6-1,
and Kyle Obermeier earned the win over Moreno, 6-2, 6-1.
Norman won court four with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Avery, and Gabe
Nagy scored a 6-0, 6-1 win over Matthew Prevost on the fifth court.
Mathison won the No. 6 singles point by default.
ORU returns to the court on Friday, March 30, when they continue
Summit League play with a 3:30 pm CT match against Western Illinois
in Macomb, Ill.
