LA-Following two tough road losses last weekend, the Oral Roberts
women's basketball team was back in their groove Saturday
afternoon, scoring a big 101-66 win over the Centenary Ladies at
the Gold Dome.
Amber
Carver was the story once again for ORU, as the sophomore
forward had a field day with a career-best 20 points and 15
rebounds, also marking her second double-double in as many
games.
Kevi
Luper added a game-best 25 points and seven steals for ORU,
while Savanna
Buck rounded out the high scoring trio with a career-best 24
points on 8-13 shooting.
The Golden
Eagles looked strong from the opening tip, stomping out to an early
25-7 lead, after holding Centenary to only three points in the
first eight minutes of play.
Taking a
38-18 lead into the break, ORU increased the advantage to as many
as 28 (50-22) on a Dominique
Allen layup early in the second half.
ORU kept the
pedal to the metal for the remainder of the contest, moving the
cushion to 40 (95-55) by the four minute mark, before settling for
the 35 point victory.
Priscila
Cergol chipped in eight points and eight assists in her first
start as a Golden Eagle, with Staci
Davis adding seven points and four boards.
With the
victory, ORU moves to 18-9 overall and 14-2 in conference.
Centenary falls to 0-23 on the year and 0-16 in the Summit.
Just one win
away from wrapping up their second-straight Summit League regular
season title, the Golden Eagles head back to the Mabee Center to
take on the Western Illinois Leathernecks next Saturday at 2:05
p.m.
