TULSA, Okla.-The Golden Eagles will play
their final road match of the season against Bradley University on
Monday at 8 p.m.
The Golden Eagles (5-9-1, 2-2-1 Summit
League), who currently sit in a three-way tie for third in the
conference, are in a battle for the fourth and final position in
the Summit League tournament. The Golden Eagles control their own
destiny with just two games to go in the season, and a win against
top-seeded Western Illinois on November 5 would likely get them
into the postseason. ORU is led by junior Aaron
Birk, who has come on strong in the past two weeks to lead the
team with 16 points off five goals and six assists. Freshman Nick
Petolick has played well in his freshman season, earning the
starting position and saving 57 shots.
Bradley (11-4-2) is one of the top teams
in the country. They are ranked No.22 in RPI and they received
votes in the latest top-25 coach's poll. Bradley started the season
with wins over No.21 Butler and No.8 South Florida. They narrowly
missed against No.4 Creighton, falling 1-0. The Braves are led by
senior Bryan Gaul with nine goals and two assists. Sophomore Bryan
Billings has saved 62 shots while allowing 15 goals.
