Balanced Scoring Keys ORU over Centenary 92-55

Box Score Tulsa-Nine players managed to score for the Oral Roberts women's basketball team, as the balanced Golden Eagle squad pulled out a 92-55 Summit League victory over the visiting Centenary Ladies Saturday afternoon in the Mabee Center.

Jaci Bigham led the charge for ORU with 22 points, six assists and a solid 6-9 effort from beyond the arc.

The Golden Eagles led from stem to stern in the afternoon contest, gaining their first double-digit lead (12-2) on a pair of Jordan Pyle freebees with 16:14 on the clock.

A pair of Centenary threes and some untimely ORU turnovers allowed the Ladies to remain in striking distance for a portion of the first half, but a late 13-4 Golden Eagle scoring spree increased the cushion to as many as 18 just before intermission.

It was all ORU in the second stanza, as the hosts eventually pulled ahead by 40 (81-41) by the seven minute mark, before settling for the 37 point win.

Kevi Luper paced a host of Golden Eagles scorers with a game-best 24 points and six steals. Luper also moved into second place in the ORU career record books with 217 steals.

Pyle tacked on 14 points and 12 rebounds for ORU, marking her seventh double-double of the year and the 16th of her career.

Amber Carver continued to build on her career-highs, snagging a personal-best eight boards and four blocked shots in the victory.

Savanna Buck added seven points for ORU, with Georgia Jones, Christian Key and Dominique Allen each chipping in five.

Anne Farrell led Centenary with 16 points and seven rebounds.

ORU forced 13 Centenary miscues, scored 29 second chance points and held the guests to a 37 percent shooting clip.

With the victory, the Golden Eagles move to their eighth-straight win and now stand at 13-7 on the year and 9-0 in the Summit League. The win also moves Coach Finkbeiner into first place all-time in Summit League overall victories. Finkbiener passes Valparaiso's Keith Freeman for the top spot and also holds the number one position for overall league and games coached.

ORU returns to action next Saturday, as they travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana to face the IPFW Mastodons at 12:00 p.m.
