TULSA - Jaleshia Roberson drained eight 3-pointers and scored a
career-high 32 points as Missouri State grounded Oral Roberts by a
score of 99-81 on Saturday at the Mabee Center.
Five Golden Eagles scored in double figures, led by
Kevi Luper (Adair,
Okla.), who posted 24 points and a team-high five assists.
Fellow freshman Jaci
Bigham (McAlester, Okla.) scored 18 points off 6-of-14 shooting
from the field and 3-of-7 from 3-point range, while Janae
Voelker (Newton, Kan.) recorded her 25th-career double-double
with 13 points and 10 boards.
Georgia Jones (Manchester,
England) scored in double figures for the seventh consecutive game
with 13 points, while
Jordan Pyle (Mustang, Okla.)
added 10 points, eight rebounds and a team-high five steals.
The Golden Eagles (7-4) were plagued by shooting woes throughout
the contest, shooting 39 percent (31-of-79) from the field, 34
percent (11-of-32) from beyond the arc and 62 percent (8-of-13)
from the charity stripe.
The Lady Bears (7-3) had four players in double figures, as Jasmine
Malone (15), Melissa Busby (14) and Casey Garrison (10) all joined
Roberson with double-digit scoring performances.
Missouri State shot 54 percent (37-of-68) from the field 57 percent
(13-of-23) from 3-point range and 75 percent (12-of-16) from the
free-throw line.
ORU returns to action against Oklahoma State at 7:00 p.m. on
Tuesday in Stillwater.
