TULSA –- The Oral Roberts University dropped a match to in-state rival Oklahoma by a score of 7-0, Saturday in Norman.

In singles action, Emily Arkell and Hayden Rush each lost hard-fought matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Arkell dropped the first game to No. 99 Ana-Maria Constantinescu, 6-3, but rallied to defeat the Sooner in the second game, 6-2. Constantinescu won the tie-breaker though, defeating Arkell, 10-4.

Rush lost her match in three sets also, losing to Maria Kalashnikova at No. 2. Rush dominated Kalashnikova in the first set, winning 6-1, but dropped the second set, 6-3 to force the tie breaker. Rush eventually dropped the tiebreaker, 10-7.

In doubles action, the No. 2 tandem of Rush and Anna Costa lost a close-fought match to OU's Christi Baxley and Tara Eckel, 8-6. Rush and Costa were ahead early in the match, 3-0, but Baxley and Eckel rallied to defeat the ORU tandem.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, March 20 when they begin The Summit League competition against IUPUI in Tulsa at 9 a.m.
