ORU Blanks Centenary, 3-0

TULSA – The Oral Roberts University men's soccer team posted their third consecutive shutout en route to a 3-0 victory over Centenary on Friday night at the ORU Soccer Complex. The Golden Eagles improved to 5-5-2 overall and 2-0-1 in Summit League play, while Centenary dropped to 3-7-1 on the season and 1-3-0 in conference action.

Junior Michael Lind (Denver, Colo.) broke ORU's 270-minute scoreless streak at the 21:26 mark, following up on a kick from Vince Tizzone (Johannesburg, South Africa) directly in front of the Centenary goalkeeper. The goal was Lind's second of the season and Tizzone's second dish on the year.

The ORU defense continued its stellar play, keeping Centenary scoreless until the Golden Eagle offense put the game out of reach.

Senior Jordan Tatum (Grapevine, Texas) fired a free kick that Josh Erickson (Anoka, Minn.) followed up for his third goal of the season at the 86:48 mark.

Eighteen seconds later, Tatum booted a ball to Juan Chang (Guatemala City, Guatemala) for his fourth score of the season, which ties for the team lead. Tatum's two assists pushes his season total to eight, which ties for third most all-time in a single season at ORU.

Chang's goal marked his 21st score of his career as a Golden Eagle, which ties for fifth all-time in school history, while his 47 points rank seventh at ORU.

Junior goalkeeper Irving Peralta (Tulsa, Okla.) earned his third shutout of the season, posting two saves in 90 minutes. The ORU defense has not allowed an opponent to score in the last 333 minute of play.

ORU returns to action against Tulsa at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
