TULSA - Oral Roberts' women's soccer team battled North
Dakota State to a 0-0 draw in Summit League action on Friday night
at the ORU Soccer Complex. With the tie, the Golden Eagles move to
8-6-3 overall and 2-1-3 in conference play, while NDSU is now
10-6-1 and 2-3-1 in league action.
The Golden Eagles held possession for most of the first half, out
shooting the Bison 5-2, but could not find the back of the net.
Jessica Harthcock had a quality chance to put the
Golden Eagles on the board but her shot caromed off the post in the
64th minute.
The Bison held a slight 7-6 edge in shots in the second-half, but
goalkeeper
Stef Gurley was up to the challenge making five
saves.
In the first overtime, the Bison almost earned themselves a win
but the header by Patty Romeo was saved by the ORU defense at the
95:38 mark. NDSU held a 3-0 advantage in shots in the first
overtime.
Gurley had another solid game in the net for the Golden Eagles
with seven saves. Meanwhile, NDSU's Monica Morgan steered away all
five ORU shots.
ORU returns to action on Sunday, hosting South Dakota State at the
ORU Soccer Complex. Match time is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
