SHREVEPORT, La.
– Centenary's Mo Assi scored with 12-seconds left in the
first-half as the Gents defeated Oral Roberts University, 1-0, in
conference action on Friday night in Shreveport.
ORU falls to
4-8-0 overall and 1-2-0 in The Summit League as Centenary moves to
3-9-0 overall and 2-2-0 in league play.
Assi
capitalized on a free kick at the 44:48 mark to lead the Gents to
the win. Aaron Volanski assisted on Assi's first goal of the
year.
Despite ORU
holding a 17-9 advantage in shots, including a 3-1 edge in shots
on-goal, the Golden Eagles could not find the back of the net.
Goalkeeper
Andrew Techanchuk had one save, while Centenary's
goalie James Speed had two shots in the winning effort.
Midfielder
Nikola Bogdanovic had four shots, one on-goal, to
lead the offense, while Jon Gann and Juan
Chang each had their shots blocked.
ORU returns
home to play host to Bradley on Monday night at the ORU Soccer
Complex. The match is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
