ORU Set to Host Texas-Pan American in Non-Conference Tilt


The Tip

The Golden Eagles are set to host Univ. of Texas-Pan American tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the Mabee Center ... It is the second to last non-conference game the Golden Eagles will play this season ... ORU has been solid in front of the home crowd this season, sporting a 7-2 record in Tulsa ... The Golden Eagles are looking to regain their early season form after losing the last three-of-four games ... This will be the 12th meeting between the two schools with ORU holding a 10-1 advantage.


The Coaches

ORU head coach Jerry Finkbeiner is in his 11th season at the helm of the Golden Eagle program. Already the school�€™s all-time wins leader, Finkbeiner has amassed a 165-141 (.539) record at ORU while also holding a 364-175 (.675) overall mark in 18 total seasons as a head coach. On the other side is head coach DeAnn Craft. Craft is in her fourth year as the head coach of the Lady Broncs and fifth year in the program. She has guided UTPA to a 42-61 overall record.

The University of Texas-Pan American Lady Broncs are riding a two-game winning streak, picking up wins against New Jersey Institute of Technology (55-44) and most recently against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (53-48) ... Overall the Lady Broncs are 8-11 and are 3-8 away from their home court (0-3 in neutral sites) ... The Lady Broncs handed A&M-Corpus Christi their first home loss of the season on Jan. 15 ... Point Guard LeKeisha Gray, from nearby Muscogee, leads the squad with 10.0 points per game while running the point ... Tamara Vaughn is also scoring at high marks, averaging 9.7 points a game ... UTPA is 0-3 this season on games played on Fridays.


ORU vs UTPA

The Golden Eagles and the Lady Broncs have met 11 times with ORU holding a 10-1 series advantage ... ORU is 4-0 against UTPA in games played at the Mabee Center ... The last time these teams squared off against each other was on Nov. 26, 2004 in Tulsa ... ORU went on to win 75-65 with senior Elisha Turek leading the Golden Eagles with 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Katie Langford also scored double-figures, netting 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting ...
